Bacterial meningitis (pediatric patients age ≥ 3 months)
Initial criteria
- Patient must have infection proven or strongly suspected to be caused by susceptible bacteria
- Culture and susceptibility information, when available, must be considered in antibiotic selection
- For empiric therapy, local epidemiology and susceptibility patterns may be considered
- Appropriate for indicated use and age range (adult or pediatric patients age ≥ 3 months as listed)
