Gout, Acute Flare
Initial criteria
- Patient age ≥ 18 years
- Meets ONE of (i) or (ii):
- i. No prior Ilaris for gout flares AND ≥ 3 gout flares in past 12 months AND intolerance/contraindication/lack of response to NSAIDs AND intolerance/contraindication/lack of response to colchicine AND not a candidate for repeated corticosteroids
- ii. Previously treated with Ilaris with beneficial response AND requires retreatment for new flare AND ≥ 12 weeks since last Ilaris dose
- Patient is receiving or will take concomitant urate-lowering medication (e.g. allopurinol, febuxostat, probenecid) unless contraindicated
- Prescribed by or in consultation with a rheumatologist
- Will not be used concurrently with other biologics
- Will not be used to treat rheumatoid arthritis
