Initial criteria

• Patient age ≥ 18 years
• Patient has low platelet counts at baseline (pretreatment)
• Patient will be receiving interferon-based therapy for chronic hepatitis C
• Medication is prescribed by or in consultation with a gastroenterologist, hepatologist, or infectious disease physician
