Initial criteria

• Documented diagnosis of recurrent herpes labialis
• Patient is age ≥ 12 years
• Trial and failure, inadequate response or intolerance to at least TWO different oral antiviral agents (e.g. famciclovir and valacyclovir)
• Trial and failure, inadequate response or intolerance to topical acyclovir ointment or cream
